Obituary for Mrs. Patricia Anne Williams (Vetere)

It is with sad hearts we announce the loss of Patricia Anne Williams, our mom, mother-in-law, auntie, cousin, gramma, great gran and friend, as she lost her battle to Lewy-Body Dementia. She left us gracefully on Sunday, July 12, 2020, at the age of 82, with her family at her side.

Patricia was born on May 23, 1938 in Rossland, British Columbia.

Patricia had a zest for life. She faithfully believed happiness is a choice and chose to share with family and friends her open heart-fullness approach. She enjoyed keeping an active body, mind and spirit. An avid reader, she liked golfing, bike riding, gardening, and driving her manual transmission cars. She was an enthusiastic fan at community sports, embracing each season (hockey, baseball, golfing tournaments etc...).

Patricia prided herself on being the Head of the X-Ray Department at the Vancouver General Hospital at the young age of 18. Later in her working career, she resided in Kamloops, B.C., raising her family and enjoying her 35+ year career as the Lead Administrative Assistant with the Elementary and Senior Secondary School in Kamloops. After Patricia's retirement, she moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario to enjoy more family and friends. She approached life with fierce determination to do what she needed to be done with love and affection. She took great pride in her family and friends. In Patricia's life- friends too became her family and she loved them unconditionally.

Patricia is lovingly remembered by her two daughters and son, Catheryne (John), Karen (Mario), and Warren. She was affectionately known as “Grandma BC” by her grandchildren Marnie (Joe), Ashley (Kevin), Justin (Carli), Marcy, Carrie (Dan), Corey and Joshua. She also will be missed by her great grandchildren Molly, Maxwell, Kaylee, Keegan, Olivia, and Chloe; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Al, parents Antonio Vetere and Irene Harrison, as well as her siblings Tina Youdell, Louise Neufeld and daughter-in-law Pam Williams.

Cremation has taken place and due to Covid-19 guidelines there will be a private celebration of life at a later date.
